FINALLY: A shiny new streamlined store URL for all « Thread Started on Jan 27, 2009, 1:33am »
Ok Ok, I'll be the first to admit that Atomic Mall's storefront URL's are something of an eyesore:
http://www.atomicmall.com/seller.php?id=12345
...Not exactly a thing of beauty or easy to remember.
ISSUE SOLVED!
Effective immediately, all Sellers (not just Charter Members) may now simply append your login ID to our main site url as the official direct link to your storefront. Example: If your login ID is "greendragon", your new storefront link will look like this:
For users who have the old style links in your signatures or elsewhere online, they will continue to work, and you can choose not to upgrade to the new format if you don't want to. All others should begin using this new streamlined format asap, as it will make your store easier for potential buyers to find and remember. Just remember to append your login ID, not your store name (in case they're different). If you want to change your login ID to something more suitable for a url, you can do so by visiting:
Account > Update Profile
Also, the original "streamlined" url's for Charter Members which included the "stores/" suffix are no longer valid. You must replace those with this new format.
Note: This is a redirect, so all sellers should continue to use the "ugly" url for your Google feeds and Amazon/Google Checkout setup!
Enjoy!

Mike, I changed my login ID to "oldorchardantiques" and I changed the link to Atomic Mall that is on my website to http://www.atomicmall.com/oldorchardantiques and I got the fish game when I clicked on the AM graphic. Did I not do something correctly??

No problem.. I know it still shows the old URL in your store front, but that is because the new ones are just redirect links. For example your new one is http://www.atomicmall.com/4elecstore .... but when you click that and it takes you to your store, it shows http://www.atomicmall.com/seller.php?id=11038 in the URL. That is because the 4elecstore is just a redirect link to your store. Your original URL didn't change. The new one just makes it easier for people to find you by your name.

On my stores I own the domain name so the change doesn't matter. Is that correct. In other words I own thelastcollectible.com and have it directed from the host site so I am already set up for the re-direct.

Whatever your log in ID is, that is what you use in the URL. I tried your store name... THE LAST COLLECTIBLE .... and it doesn't work so your log in name must be different.

My login ID is different do I change my login ID? because if a buyer puts in www.thelastcollectible.com they are taken to my store.

Your domain name is totally separate from your AM store url. They are not related. This is just a way to make your AM link easier for people to remember or type in.

ok I see how you have it set. I myself would leave it just like you have it.
www.thelastcollectible.com takes you straight to your store on here.... That is good. I would leave it just like that.

Sorry, I misunderstood. I wasn't aware you had your domain setup to redirect to your AM storefront Shadow. Yes, you can leave that as is.
The main advantage to the switch is for those who include links in their forum signatures, or want them printed on business cards, etc. Purely an aesthetic thing. It still redirects to your actual storefront url.
